DIY-ers in Japan find awesome and adorable ways to recycle denim jeans 【Pics】

Just because your jeans don’t fit anymore doesn’t mean they belong in the trash!

I don’t know about you, but when I think of recycling an old pair of jeans, it usually means chopping off enough length until they can be classified as shorts. While it’s a good way to transition from winter clothing to spring or summer clothing, it’s not very useful if the jeans didn’t fit very well in the first place.

But Japanese DIY-ers are here to save the day! We’ve seen them do incredible things before by making steampunk masterpieces out of nothing but leftover garbage, so to these creative minds, recycling jeans means much more than amputating denim until you have something that can beat the heat. They’ve found ways to use every scrap of denim possible.

▼ Take this cute pillow for instance. All it took was a few patches of fabric and denim, and, voila! A cushion so colorful that it’s easy to hide the stain on the couch.

This is one of our favorites. Instead of just throwing away their nice Levi’s jeans, this denim-artist used the pocket itself to create a bag. All you need to do is add some extra fabric and a zipper to the top.
