Well, guys, just as you finally decided 2017 was the year we were going to completely regress as a culture (see: Charlottesville), this piece of news comes along to confirm it even further. According to a report by the New York Post, men are AirDropping dick pics to unsuspecting subway riders in New York City, proving that human beings will always find ways to be barbaric animals.

A 28-year-old woman from Bushwick named Britta Carlson told the Post that she was riding the train uptown on July 27, when, at 6:51 p.m., a message on her iPhone that read “iPhone 1 would like to share a note with you” popped up on her screen. She clicked “Accept” and was horrified to see “a huge close-up picture of a disgusting penis.” She had no idea who had sent her the message, which was titled “Straw” for some reason.

“It really felt like someone had actually just flashed me,” she said.

Can you believe this sh*t? The NYC subway is disgusting enough. Now, in addition to being afraid of getting flashed by random men, we have to fear that someone will violate us via our iPhone screens, which are supposed to be a way to avoid making eye contact with said flashers IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Another 35-year-old man, Frankie Navisch, from Harlem, was coming out of Penn Station when he received an invitation to open “Eduardo's picture.” Accompanied with the notification was a preview picture of a penis.

“I wanted to punch him in the mouth for carelessly buckshotting genitalia to phones that could potentially be owned by children,” Navisch said. “Was he looking for interaction, or is all he wanted was someone to look at his mini-monstrosity?”

A random dick appearing on your phone out of nowhere kind of sounds like something out of a bad sci-fi porn movie. But it's possible. If you have an iPhone and your AirDrop setting is on “Everyone” instead of “Contacts Only” or “Receiving Off,” you could become a target of the AirDrop Dick Pic. You just have to be within Bluetooth range (approximately 328 feet) of someone who wants to feels like being the scum of the Earth that day.

Many of us aren't even aware that we have AirDrop on, let alone the fact that it's set to “Everyone” versus “Contacts Only.” Some of us, though, use it for work (like Carlson) or to share pictures of our family vacation with, like, our GRANDMOTHERS.

The Post reached out to Apple regarding this matter, and they declined to comment. In the meantime, let's just wave the white flag on humanity.
