Carrie Fisher Had The Best Comeback For Body-Shaming Critics On Twitter

Mom and Dad were right, the Internet is not a friendly place.

What should be seen as a platform for debate and discussion, often turns into a caps lock-fueled rage.

When it comes to trolling and shame, women’s bodies are always trending.

Carrie Fisher — AKA Princess Leia in the “Star Wars” franchise — recently took to Twitter to slam those who scrutinize her age, weight and body.

She followed up several hours later with this zinger:

Fisher is touching on a tricky subject in Hollywood: aging actresses.

The same type of public uproar happened in late 2014, when Renee Zellweger stepped on the red carpet with significantly different facial features.

When Fisher spoke to Good Housekeeping earlier this month, she opened up about how she was told to lose 35 pounds to be Princess Leia in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

“They don’t want to hire all of me,” she explained. “Only about three-quarters!”

Here’s a novel idea, how about we leave all our opinions on whether or not someone gained weight or “aged gracefully” at the door?

Instead, let’s talk about the immense talent these women harbor.

Besides, Fisher will never stop being a stunner, at any age.
