This Studio Ghibli-style “Legend of Zelda” video hits all the right notes 【Video】
Let’s start a petition to get this made in to a feature-length film right now!
Alright, before you get too excited, this is not actually a thing. Studio Ghibli is not making a “Legend of Zelda” film and the possibility that they ever would is pretty unlikely. However, YouTuber and freelance artist Matt Vince seems to be a dreamer and his video “Zelda x Ghibli Film Trailer” is a 1:46 minute ode to that dream.
Using music from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time as performed by pianist and composer Kyle Landry, Vince’s video perfectly captures the atmosphere that many Ghibli film fans cherish – quiet, slow movements through time that possess a certain kind of serenity, yet are full of meaning or significance.
Prior to making the video, Vince had created a series of posters imagining the story…er, legend, of Zelda depicted with a Studio Ghibli-esque sensibility. Rightly so, he was sure to make mention on the poster all of the film festival awards such a movie would likely to win were it to become reality.
Take a look at the video below and let us know in the comments if you think that Studio Ghibli should totally make The Legend of Zelda into a full-length movie and if so, which story in particular you think would best suit a film!
