Nintendo leak: New Pokémon game titles are “Pokémon SUN” and “Pokémon MOON”
The names of the much-awaited sequels to Pokémon X and Y are here!
While everyone in the Pokémon world has been anxiously awaiting Friday’s Pokémon Direct, which will celebrate 20 years of Pokémon and most likely announce upcoming games, it seems that the names of the new titles have been leaked a day early: Pokémon SUN and Pokémon MOON.

This information was gathered by NerdLeaks, who found the titles registered in the European market earlier today. With such detailed logos included in the registration, it’s very likely that these are going to be the official names of the new Nintendo 3DS titles.

Of course, until Nintendo makes an official announcement, this is all just speculation. So you know what that means: it’s time for wild guesses! Here’s our stab at some:
- Pokémon SUN’s starter is Solrock, and Pokémon MOON’s starter is Lunatone???
- Pokémon MOON takes place on the moon, and Pokémon SUN on the sun???
- Pokémon SUN may be a very short game due to the protagonist melting???
- Or, and we’re just throwing this crazy one out there, the SUN and MOON just have to do with the legendaries in the games and not much else.
