Japanese photographer captures the lives of cats in Tokyo with beautiful results

It’s amazing to see what a cat can get up to in the city during the night and day.

Japanese photographer Masayuki Oki has a knack for finding and photographing urban cats in all their glory. Since we last took a look through his photo album, spring has sprung in the big city and the cats of Tokyo have been continuing about their lives, with Oki by their side, bringing their tales to life with a series of gorgeous images. Let’s take a look at what the curious felines have been up to recently, by seeing the city through their eyes for a day.

Waking up may be difficult for some…

But there’s no better way to start the day than with a good stretch.

And while it still might be difficult to get started, it’s time to head off for a day of adventure.

There’s lots to do for a cat on the streets of Tokyo.

There are neighbours to greet…

High ledges to discover…

Poles to scratch…

And for some lucky cats, there are pretty waterways to jump through.

For active kitties, the day is filled with gravity-defying adventures and fun games…

While others have family to tend to.

Regardless of who you are or where you are, anytime is a good time for a spot of impromptu grooming!

When afternoon rolls around, it’s always nice to take a break in the sunshine at the park.

Or perhaps on a cool ledge under the shade…

Then it’s time to enjoy a romantic interlude.

Before heading out into the night to find a spot to stay.

It can be scary to be out on the streets at night.

But if you’ve got friends to help you make it through, things’ll be okay.
