Moon Prism Power Makeup — with actual base and foundation from Shiseido Maquillage!
You’ve seen Sailor Moon transformed by the magic of Moon Prism Power, but now the series has collaborated with Shiseido to create real makeup that girls can actually use!
Fans of the long running series should be delighted to hear that actual Sailor Moon-themed makeup will be released from Shiseido Maquillage this spring. That’s right, our favorite pretty soldier has teamed up with the Maquillage brand from Japanese cosmetics company Shiseido to take on the hugely important task of helping girls achieve perfect-looking skin.
There will be two items in the Sailor Moon x Maquillage collaboration lineup. First we have a set that includes the Dramatic Powdery UV Foundation and a matching limited edition special design compact case that will be priced at 3,500 yen (US$30.50).
▼ The foundation and sponge fits in the beautiful compact case.
The second item is a set of the same Dramatic Powdery UV Foundation in a smaller size combined with the Dramatic Skin Sensor Base UV makeup base also in a limited edition bottle, to be available for 2,600 yen.
▼ Makeup base and foundation should be a good start to beautiful looking skin.
Coming from Shiseido, the makeup items naturally aren’t all just fancy decoration, but genuine beauty products. The makeup base is designed to continue giving your skin a more beautiful finish than immediately after applying makeup for extended periods of time, and the foundation is a mousse-based powder type made to let you achieve the look of naturally beautiful skin, so it sounds like using the base and foundation should work quite a bit of magic! Both sets are available in two shades (ocher 10 and ocher 20), from which you can choose based on your skin tone.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a collaboration without the fancy decorations, so they’ve made sure there’s plenty of that as well.
▼ The compact case for the foundation comes decorated with patterns
of the transformation brooch and the sailor soldiers’ planetary symbols.
▼ It’s also colored in lovely pink and blue hues that symbolize the bright
prism colors seen during Sailor Moon’s transformation scene.
▼ The cap of the makeup base is also decorated with the same Sailor Moon patterns for a touch of that magical sparkle.
They also had a special set containing the makeup base, foundation, and compact case along with a special pouch and sticker available exclusively for pre-order through the Premium Bandai shopping site, but these apparently sold out in about one day and is sadly no longer on sale on the site.
You can, however, still buy the two sets we introduced above when they become available starting April 21 at drug stores and supermarkets across Japan or through Shiseido’s online shop. Here’s to the very real magic of makeup, which we can rely on even without the help of Moon Prism Power… though it can’t hurt if you apply it with a Spiral Heat Moon Rod brush.
