The “Trump Burger” – Japan ushers in America’s new president with a 5,800-yen meaty extravagance

trump-burger It’s gonna be huuuge.

Donald Trump may have only just been sworn in as the next president of the United States, but Japan is already sinking their teeth into him in the best possible way: by turning him into a burger.

▼ “You’re fired… on the grill.”

The restaurant putting out the “Trump Burger” is BLT Steak, with two locations in Tokyo’s Ginza and Roppongi. BLT Steak is an American steakhouse restaurant with a location inside the Trump International Hotel in Washington D.C.

In preparation for Trump’s inauguration day in January 20, BLT Steak started offering the “Trump Burger,” a burger made to look like the new president. The burger consists of a premium-grade 150-gram filet mignon patty, 100 grams of French fois gras, carmelized apple copote with truffles, and a sauce made of port wine, honey, balsamic vinegar, and ginger, along with buns toasted with Gruyère cheese.

▼ Whether or not the burger looks like Trump himself is up to you,
but the angle of the apples to match the hair definitely goes a long way.

Of course it’s not just the burger looking like the man himself, but symbolizing him too, using only the most expensive and luxurious of ingredients. Just one Trump Burger will set your wallet back 5,800 yen (US$51).

▼ $51… also known as the amount it would
cost you to buy 51 one-dollar cheeseburgers.

But when you buy the Trump Burger, you’re not just paying for the burger itself, there’s the atmosphere too, and BLT Steak is about as fancy as it can get for a restaurant called “BLT Steak.”

If you’ve got money to burn and you’re excited to try a Trump Burger for yourself, you may want to slow down a bit because you have to make reservations at BLT Steak at least a day in advance. They only make three Trump Burgers per day, so it’s a super exclusive item that will probably get the attention of the entire restaurant when you eat it… which is probably exactly the intent.

Although all of this leaves us wondering, what would a burger based on Trump’s youngest son, Barron Trump, be like? And would it have an sort of special tie-in with his manga?
