The beautiful booth models of Japan’s CP+ camera expo【Photos】
We were inspired to take more than a few pictures on our visit to the ongoing trade show taking place south of Tokyo.
Right now CP+ (“CP Plus”), Japan’s leading camera and photo imaging exposition, is going on in Yokohama in Kanagawa Prefecture, just a short train ride south from Tokyo. The venue is packed with the latest in photographic technology, and also photogenic spokesmodels.
CP+ is a pretty big deal in the industry. Last year’s iteration drew some 67,000 attendees and saw the world debut of 42 new pieces of technology, so of course domestic camera manufacturers including Epson, Nikon, and Casio had contingents present in 2017.
But there’s more to the world of imaging products than just complete cameras. Other booths were set up to showcase peripherals, components, and other camera accessories, such as the memory cards of California-based SanDisc.
Assuming you’ll eventually want to transfer your photos onto a PC, computer maker DAIV also showed up, as did telecommunications provider DoCoMo.
If you’re looking to upgrade to a higher-quality lens, the young ladies from Tamron have some suggestions.
And to make sure you don’t drop your camera while moving from one photo opportunity to another, camera sling specialist Blackrapid is ready to help.
And while the spokesmodels spent much of their time being photographed, sometimes they were the ones taking the pictures.
CP+ runs through February 26 at the Pacifico Yokohama convention center, near Minato Mirai Station on the Minato Mirai Line or Sakuragicho Station on the JR rail network.
