New McFlurry from McDonald’s Japan offers swirls of caramel to make you dizzy with sweetness
What’s sweeter than caramel? Soft serve ice cream mixed with caramel!
Last year, McDonald’s Japan delighted sweets lovers with a limited edition McShake in the flavor of snack maker Morinaga’s popular milk caramels. Now, there’s more good news for caramel fans — this time they’ve come out with a Morinaga Milk Caramel-flavored McFlurry dessert!
The new “McFlurry Morinaga Milk Caramel” now on sale at McDonald’s across Japan combines a rich soft serve ice cream with a caramel sauce designed to recreate the flavor of Morinaga’s milk caramels, topped with crunchy caramel bits for texture. The sauce apparently contains a hint of salt, sure to make for a delightful contrast with caramel sweetness .
And if all of that isn’t enough to tempt you, here’s a short video of a commercial for the Milk Caramel McFlurry:
The cute design you see on the cup is the Morinaga Milk Caramel logo, but the number of cups in this design will be limited, so anyone who wants the full Morinaga Milk Caramel experience may want to get to a McDonald’s sooner than later.
And if you order the McFlurry between now and June 4, just to make sure you get enough of the caramel goodness, they’ll also give you a free piece of the actual milk caramel from Morinaga while supplies last.
The McFlurry Morinaga Milk Caramel is priced at 290 yen (US$2.62) a cup and is expected to be available until early July. It’s the perfect followup to the McFlurry Crunchy Sakura, and for those of you in Japan during the next month, it should be a sweet way to stay cool in the early summer!
