Nintendo Celebrates Dairy Farmers on ‘Milk Day’ with 1-2-Switch Mini-Game
Nintendo is celebrating Japan’s hardworking dairy farmers on June 1, otherwise known as “Milk Day,” and what better way then inviting them to a large-scale match of 1-2-Switch’s Milking mini-game?
The Central Dairy Council sponsored the “Roppongi Ranch” event on May 27 in Roppongi Hills building complex in Minato.

The event featured locally produced milk and ice cream, educational workshops, a quiz, and the opportunity to hand make butter. The event’s biggest highlight though was a dairy farmer milking face off using the Milking mini-game. Most of the participants had never played the game, but the familiar motions from long days on the farm quickly kicked in.
The same mini-game drew attention from PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) on March 30. The letter from group president Ingrid Newkirk states that the mini game takes out “all the cruelty out of milking” and is unrealistic.
