Cole Sprouse Stars In 'Five Feet Apart' & Fans Can't Wait To See Him On The Big Screen

After growing up in showbiz alongside his twin brother, Cole Sprouse kickstarted his adult acting career in a major way last year by starring as Jughead Jones in Riverdale. Now, Sprouse is making the jump from the small screen to the big screen: he just landed the first major movie role. Cole Sprouse will star in Five Feet Apart, an upcoming teen romance flick, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Five Feet Apart is being billed as an uplifting teen romance, about a couple who meet and fall in love while they are both being treated for illnesses. It sounds as though it is in the vein of the 2014 romantic drama The Fault in Our Stars, which also revolved around a teen couple that bond and fall in love amidst medical tragedy. Cole Sprouse is set to play the male romantic lead in Five Feet Apart; no other cast members have been announced yet. The movie also has some star power behind the camera, with Jane the Virgin star Justin Baldoni set to direct.
Cole Sprouse has built up esteem as a TV star for years — recurring on Friends in his youth, then helming Disney's The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and its spinoff The Suite Life on Deck throughout the 2000s, and currently on the main cast of CW's millennial hit Riverdale — but he has mostly steered clear of the movie screen up until this point. His first movie part was also his biggest, co-starring with Adam Sandler on 1999's Big Daddy when he was just 7 years old. He had smaller parts in a few movies throughout the 2000s, but became best known for co-starring with his twin brother Dylan Sprouse on television, on Disney Channel's The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.
After The Suite Life on Deck wrapped in 2011, Cole Sprouse and his brother Dylan both took a hiatus from show business in order to focus on their studies at New York University. Cole Sprouse was entirely absent from TV and film for about 5 years, before returning to acting in 2017 in the role of Jughead Jones on the CW's dark, broody adaptation of the Archie Comics, Riverdale. That series has gone on to become a massive hit especially among millennial audiences once its first season was added to Netflix, and is currently in the middle of airing its twice-as-long second season.
The fanbase that has come to surround Cole Sprouse's new role as Jughead Jones definitely seems to be the impetus for him getting cast in a teen romance flick. Though Jughead is canonically asexual in the Archie Comics, Riverdale has given the character a sexually charged storyline with Betty Cooper. The relationship quickly became a fan favorite, with viewers dubbing the ship Bughead and celebrating their romantic moments together. Clearly, Sprouse has proven that he is a viable teen romance lead on Riverdale, and Five Feet Apart will take that to the next level.
Since Five Feet Apart is still in early stages, fans will have to wait a while to see Cole Sprouse on the big screen. The movie is reportedly going to try to start shooting this spring, which could mean that it may hit theaters before the end of 2018, or the start of 2019.
Both Cole Sprouse and Justin Baldoni celebrated the casting announcement on Twitter. Baldoni was excited to get to work with his fellow CW actor on the big screen, and Sprouse made a jokes about the movie's title:
Riverdale and Jane the Virgin are currently airing on the CW. Five Feet Apart is expected to begin filming in the next few months.

Idols stand by cryptocurrency after major theft leaves them without paychecks
07:40 cherishe 0 Comments
The Virtual Currency Girls hit their first major snag in their dream of a cryptocurrency utopia.
A major theft at the Japanese cryptocurrency exchange Coincheck caused the service to shut down completely and left the idols holding the empty bag. The girls had previously agreed to only be paid in cryptocurrency to support the group’s message. It was also the way to buy both tickets and merchandise for the group.
The Virtual Currency Girls held a press conference on January 27 explaining that the five-member group was supposed to receive two million yen in wages (US$18,400) through the Coincheck exchange. The Cinderella Academy agency offered to pay the girls in yen but they declined, instead standing by their position on cryptocurrency. While Coincheck is down, they also cannot receive payment for tickets or merchandise but still plan to perform as scheduled.
The masked idol maids were brought together to promote a future where initial coin offering (ICO) offer hope, instead of the risks of “fraud” and “crashes” sometimes associated with virtual currency. Each member is promoting a specific cryptocurrency and the group is led by BitCoin Cash idol Rara Nanase. The other members represent the original BitCoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Neo (NEO), Mona (MONA), Cardano (ADA), NEM (XEM), and Ripple (XRP). The idols range in age from 15 to 22, although two members are keeping their ages a secret.
Coincheck issued a statement on Sunday that it will compensate approximately 260,000 individuals in yen for the loss of cryptocurrency NEM (XEM), for a total of 523 million XEM. Coincheck will pay out 46.3 billion yen (US$426 million), an about 20% depreciation of the cryptocurrency’s worth. The money will come from Coincheck’s own funds, but the company did not say when the refunds will take place.
Hackers managed to steal the equivalent of US$530 million, more than the US$400 million in BitCoin stolen from Mt Gox in 2014, making it the largest theft of its kind. The Japanese government is now supervising the company’s response to the hack and has asked Coincheck to improve its business practices in light of the recent events.
Other cryptocurrency exchanges targeted by hackers recently include Youbit in South Korea and NiceHash in Slovenia.

Japanese elementary schools’ list of behavior requirements would be hard for most adults to clear
07:40 cherishe 0 Comments
Over a dozen conduct pointers cover everything from shoes to interpersonal relationships.
The Japanese school year is winding down, which means some teens are dealing with the bittersweet emotions of their impending high school graduation as they tearfully eat their final made-by-Mom bento boxed lunch. But on the other end of the spectrum, some kids’ formal education is just about to begin as they enter elementary school.
That’s the case for mother and manga artist Mandaring (@mandaring on Twitter), who recently received a parents’ orientation package from the school her child will be attending. Included in the packet is a list of expectations regarding students’ behavior, but the extensive checklist is causing a stir in Japan because ticking off every item would be difficult for many adults to do, let alone kids.

The 18-point list begins with:
“Before your student begins classes at the school, please make sure they are capable of the following. Also, as parents and family members, please follow the same conduct yourself.”
The 18 points are divided into two categories, starting with “Basic Conduct and Attitude,” which lists:
● Attentively listen when someone is speaking.
● Greet others and respond to questions in a clear, easily audible voice.
● Sit up properly in your chair.
● Have a clear understanding that what belongs to others does not belong to you.
● After taking off your shoes, arrange them neatly in the entryway.
● Make sure your clothing is clean and unwrinkled.
● Keep your desk and surroundings tidy and organized.
● Take responsibility to go to bed early and wake up early on your own.
● Eat a proper breakfast.
● Always brush your teeth.
● Never tell lies.
Moving on to “Relationships with Friends,” the remaining criteria are:
● Do not leave anyone feeling left out.
● If someone has a problem, help them.
● Do not badmouth your friends.
● Be able to get along with, play, and learn with anyone.
● Don’t always just play by yourself, but be friendly in playing together with everyone.
● Play outside, both to get plenty of exercise and also to relax in natural surroundings.
● If you make a mistake, earnestly apologize.
If you can do all that even as a full-grown adult, most people would say you’ve grown into a pretty good person. Asking parents to make sure their kids can do all of it before even starting the first grade, though, seems like a pretty tall order when dealing with such little kids.
▼ Heck, looking around our own office, we see that a lot of our staff hasn’t quite got the “sit up properly” achievement yet.
▼ With a kid entering elementary school, Mandaring should have plenty of material for her Oyasodate Nikki (“Diary of Raising Parents“) series

まんだ林檎 (@mandaring) December 22, 2017
Still, the list is a pretty comprehensive collection of admirable goals, especially its emphasis on not alienating others, given how important group activities are in Japanese society. And though one could make the counterpoint that the most important part of elementary school education isn’t scholastic knowledge, but social development, it’s also encouraging to see the school subtly reminding parents that in order for lessons about how to get along with others to really sink in, kids need to see kind and conscientious behavior not just in their classroom, but in their home as well.

These Photos Of The 2018 Super Blue Blood Moon & Lunar Eclipse Are Breathtaking
07:09 cherishe 0 Comments
There are a few "once in a lifetime" sights I'd like to see, and one of them is — without question — a super blue blood moon. Before appearing in the sky during the early hours of Jan. 31, the last super blue blood moon actually occurred 150 freaking years ago. But the photos of the 2018 super blue blood moon and lunar eclipse honestly look so unreal, and you should definitely check them out in case you missed the real thing.
Whether you caught the super blue blood moon on an iPhone or a Nikon DSLR, what really makes or breaks lunar photography is perfect timing... Especially during the super blue blood moon, timing was literally everything. New York City's ideal viewing time was around 6:45 a.m. ET, and on the West Coast, the it was at approximately 3:48 a.m. PT. Those in the Middle East, eastern Russia, Asia Australia, or New Zealand, however, were able to best view the phenomenon during moonrise, the morning of Jan. 31. In addition to perfect timing, though, NASA also recommended viewing the eclipse from a "high place," and for onlookers to direct their gaze north-northwest, away from sunrise. All of the photos captured are truly remarkable, and we're seriously applauding all of these talented AF photographers from around the world, for waking up so damn early.
More to come.

Inspiring Tweets About Super Blue Blood Moon Will Make You Feel So Amazed At The Universe
07:09 cherishe 0 Comments
Early on Wednesday, Jan. 31, a few large swaths of the globe were able to glimpse a once-in-a-lifetime lunar even — if they woke up early enough to catch it. For the first time in 150 years, a super blue blood moon hit the skies. And for those who saw the moon, it was basically a life-altering event, as these tweets about the super blue blood moon prove.
Just to give a liiiiittle bit of context here, this lunar event was pretty freaking cool. As the name suggests, a super blue blood moon is a confluence of three cool moon things. A supermoon is when the Moon is super close to the Earth, so it looks big in the sky. A blue moon is when a full moon happens twice in one month (i.e. "once in a blue moon," get it?). And, finally, a blood moon is a lunar eclipse, which is when the Moon moves through the Earth's shadow (think a solar eclipse, but flipped). A lunar eclipse gives the moon a reddish color, which is why it's commonly referred to as a blood moon. Put those all together and what do you get? A super blue blood moon. Simple!
Across the United States, the super blue blood moon hit between 3:30 a.m. and 7 a.m. local times, depending on where you were. Those who got out of a comfy bed to see it where not disappointed... for the most part.
The super blue blood moon made people feel like they were part of a beautiful gigantic universe.
Some people went poetic at the sight of the super blue blood moon on Wednesday.
While others were flexing their photography skills (we get it, you've got a long lens).
Meanwhile, some other people were not quite as impressed with their own ability to photograph the super blue blood moon.
But that doesn't mean they didn't try. A for effort.
For some super, blue, and bloody astrological followers, the expectations just did not meet the reality on Wednesday.
And then there were those photos that just made you want to say, "no way is that real shut uuuupppppp!!!"
The super blue blood moon made many people reflect on what really matters in life. Like K-pop.
BTS forever.
If you missed out on the super blue blood moon early Wednesday morning, well, I'm sorry, but you kind of just blew it. While a supermoon, blue moon, and blood moon are all relatively common by themselves, the convergence of all three at the same time is very rare. Still, that doesn't mean you should just give up on star-gazing and eclipse chasing forever. Like I said, each of the separate lunar events happen relatively frequently, so if you feel like you missed out, just keep an eye out for the next one of these (although, be warned, a blue moon is just another full moon, so it's not the most exciting thing you'll see in the sky).
More to come.

These Super Blue Blood Moon Memes Will Cheer You Up If You Missed The Real Thing

I don't know about you, but I take sleeping pretty seriously. Therefore, I missed out on seeing the highly-anticipated Super Blue Blood Moon in the early hours of Tuesday, Jan. 31. Thankfully, Twitter is making me feel a little bit better about my loss. In fact, these super blue blood moon memes are totally cheering me up — even though I missed it.
Before we get into all of the hilarious memes about the lunar phenomenon, let's talk about what a super blue blood moon actually is. Based off it's name, it sounds kind of intimidating — but don't be fooled (it's not). The super blue blood moon just has a few different parts to it, because it's a blue moon, a lunar eclipse, and a supermoon at the same freaking time. To make the process of understanding a little bit easier, let's take each portion of its name one at a time.
First, let's talk about the word "super." When I hear the words "super" and "moon" in the same sentence, I automatically envision a gigantic, white sphere in the sky (naturally). However, it's much more than that. A supermoon occurs when a full moon is closest to us in a single orbit. However, the supermoon on Jan. 31 was extra special because it happened during a lunar eclipse.
More to come.

Cherry Blossom Pocky sound blooming delicious, so let’s try these new sakura sweets【Taste test】
05:40 cherishe 0 Comments
Japan’s most famous snack food steps into spring with this limited-time seasonal flavor.
Just about every year since I moved to Japan, I’ve gotten lulled into a false sense of security once we get past the midpoint of January. “Winter is now more than half-way over!” I tell myself, as I start to think I can just make out the light at the end of the tunnel of my least favorite season.
Then something like this happens.
Yep, it’s still incredibly cold in Japan, even though I’d be perfectly OK with spring starting right now. So if the weather isn’t going to cooperate, my only choice for an early reprieve from winter is to eat as many spring-themed snacks as I can, which this week meant Sakura (Cherry Blossom) Pocky.
Manufacturer Glico’s newest flavor for its perennially popular line of chocolate-covered pretzel sticks is available only at Seven & i group stores, which include 7-Eleven convenience stores and supermarkets York Mart and Ito Yokado. Knowing that sakura have become an internationally recognized symbol of Japan, the signs at my closest Ito Yokado wre tri-lingual, with Japanese, English, and Chinese text.
▼ Being at home with Pocky is always better than being out in the snow.
The fancy-looking box underscores the Sakura Pocky’s membership in the brand’s “Luxury Chocolatier” sub-group, which also commands a slight premium, with this four-bag, 24-stick box costing 365 yen (US$3.25), making it a little more expensive than more plebeian Pocky flavors.
▼ Popping the top reveals a burst of color, almost like a branch of blooming cherry blossoms.
▼ Sakura illustrations adorn each of the wrappers.
Each stick has a chocolate coating of a shade that mimics sakura petals, and is favored with sakura leaf extract, then dusted with large-grain sugar and salt, in keeping with the characteristic saltiness of many sakura sweets.
However, when you bite into one, the first sensation isn’t sakura, but butter.
That’s because in addition to seeming a little thicker than ordinary Pocky, the sakura flavor sticks’ cores are made seared butter for an almost Danish-like richness. As a matter of fact, if you had you eyes closed and took a sniff of an open packet, it’d be hard to detect the marque ingredient of sakura extract by scent alone.
As you chew, though, the sakura flavors make their presence known, and eventually the rich butter, sweet chocolate, and salty finish create a moment of pure pleasure for the palate as they combine for a glorious aftertaste with a surprisingly clear, non-oily finish for something that’s initially so buttery.
If you’re a hard-core sakura supporter, instead of biting through the stick, your cravings will be better served by sucking on it first, so that you can enjoy the sakura flavors with no interference from the buttery core. Even if you do just eat them normally, though, the Sakura Pocky are delicious and unique, and their pretty-in-pink appearance only add to their appeal at a home party or cherry blossom-viewing excursion. The larger-than-normal quantity also makes them an easy pick for social snacking with friends, as the box top even encourages you to “share happiness.”
But should you decide you want to eat the whole box yourself, I totally understand.

Which Zodiac Signs Make The Best Partners? They're Not Who You Think
05:24 cherishe 0 Comments
Every zodiac sign has its own set of strengths and weaknesses when it comes to relationships. Even if you don't know much about astrology, you're probably aware that dating a Pisces is like living in a re-enactment of The Notebook and pursuing a Scorpio means you better be ready for mindblowing sexxx. These are the rules, I didn't make them up. But which zodiac signs make the best partners? The answer isn't so straightforward.
Compatibility between the signs is important, so there isn't exactly a one-size-fits-all solution. Certain signs are better partners for you, but that doesn't mean that one sign is the ultimate champion of relationships, you know? (Although, let's be real, a super-confident Leo would think she's the best partner of all time.)
That said, some signs are more suited to the stability that relationships require — Earth signs! The three signs that fall under this element are Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn, and they're known for being ultra-grounded, solid, loyal, stable, and practical. These traits make Earth sign babes incredible partners.
On the flip side, Earth signs can be a little, well... boring? And superficial? (It's fine, I'm a Taurus, I can say it.) If you crave adventure and spontaneity or could care less about material things, these people probably aren't your soulmates.
But if you're looking for a healthy, long-lasting relationship that makes you feel secure and deeply loved, Earth signs are the way to go. Here's why Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn make the best partners overall.
Taurus (April 19 To May 20)
Tauruses love love. But they aren't hopeless romantics who throw themselves at the first single person they see. Instead, they feel out the vibes before they commit... and once they do, it's game on. Tauruses are determined, stubborn creatures, and when they get exactly what they want (i.e. you), they don't take that for granted. They'll spoil you rotten, treat you to good brunch and great sex, and never stray from your side. And just so you know, they've already raved about how special and perfect you are to their mom.
Virgo (August 23 To September 22)
Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter is a Virgo. Beyoncé, the goddess who sings "Drunk in Love," "Crazy in Love," "Love on Top," "Halo," "XO," and more. Queen Bey, the woman who has been with JAY-Z for more than 15 years, through the highest highs (fame, fortune, three children) and the lowest lows (a miscarriage, infidelity). Do I need to keep going? She's a true Virgo in everry sense: committed, never willing to settle for less than perfection, wise beyond her years, and loyal as all hell. Virgos fall in love cautiously, but once they've fallen for someone who meets their meticulous standards, they're in it for life.
Capricorn (December 22 To January 19)
Capricorns have ultra-high standards for whom they allow into their lives — and hearts — so if you're hanging around a Cap, you should be confident that they see you as a real catch. They prefer to have their sh*t together with their career and their bank account before they look for love, so a relationship with a Capricorn is often pretty luxurious. They're mature, experienced, and probably flush with cash — not a bad foundation for any relationship. And thanks to their practical side, they know that nobody is perfect, so they're willing to accept you for who you are, instead of molding you into someone else.
Earth signs are especially suited to being long-term partners because of their natural tendencies toward stability, loyalty, and commitment. But that doesn't mean that your perfect match is necessarily an Earth sign. To quote Selena Gomez, a water sign, the heart wants what it wants. And if you want an intellectual air sign or a larger-than-life fire sign, go do you, boo.

I Followed My Ex On Instagram & This Is (Horrifyingly) What Happened
05:24 cherishe 1 Comments
Everyone has that one ex that will always low-key f*ck them up. No matter how many times you don’t work out, you’re willing to give it another chance. No matter how late they drunk-text you, you answer. In the words of my best friend, "everyone has a Brittany." Until you actually get over them, and then you don’t. I’ve felt unaffected by my "Brittany" for two solid years. So yesterday, I decided to follow my ex on Instagram.
And that b*tch won’t accept me! She’s just been letting the request sit there. And trust me, honey, I know she sees it. It’s 2018 — we don’t take a shit without our phones. She’s actively ignoring it. Power move.
I’ve been compulsively typing her name into the search engine, willing the "requested" icon to change to "following." I don’t know why — well, I do, but it’s too petty to admit. I want her to see how amazing my life is. Even more frequently than checking her page, I kept stalking my own Instagram, imagining I was her, seeing me. If she looked at my profile (which I’m sure AF she did even though she won’t accept me) she’d know that I got my dream job, moved to a new apartment, and glowed up in general.
Because I literally post everything on social media, she’d know the bad sh*t too: she’d know my nephew passed away, I’ve been struggling with anxiety and depression, my favorite secret single behavior is dipping a flour tortilla into a gigantic tub of sour cream (seriously, you should try it sometime). I knew that if she accepted me, I still wouldn’t know what was going on for real in her life. She had always used social media more privately and less frequently than I did — one post per week, max.
On Instagram, their relationship looked perfect: concerts, restaurants, anniversaries — and each caption was cheesier than the next.
After all, when we had been dating, she was still closeted and never uploaded photos of us. In fact, she’d actively crop me out. Later, when we were broken up but still sleeping together, she met her boyfriend. She would upload photos with him all the time. On Instagram, their relationship looked perfect: concerts, restaurants, anniversaries — and each caption was cheesier than the next. On Christmas, she posted a photo of them together with the caption, "Your love is my turning page." That had been our (corny as f*ck) song. All of it hurt.
But still, whenever she texted me to meet up, I didn't hesitate. Every few months, we'd meet at the only hipster bar on Long Island, catch up, then drive in the same car to a motel you could rent by the hour to have sex. Looking back, that sounds depressing. But at the time, I felt like we were in a sexy, old movie. I got a thrill out of sneaking around. I still had a piece of her; she still had a piece of me. Finally, she told me her boyfriend was planning to propose. She said she couldn't see me anymore.
Sometimes, I’d frantically wake up in the middle of the night and find my hand already reaching for my phone.
Unable to see Brittany in real life, I became even more obsessed with watching her online. I’d wake up in the morning and immediately check her social media. A few hours later, I’d get the burning impulse to check again. My face would flush. I'd get anxious, then completely devastated. Sometimes, I’d frantically wake up in the middle of the night and find my hand already reaching for my phone. I was a masochist — I’d scroll back months and months, to when we were together. But there was no evidence. No proof that we had been happy. No artifacts of our relationship. No corny song lyrics or stupid hashtags.
In order to get over her, I had to block her on every form of social media. Yes, even LinkedIn. You know that stomach dropping feeling you get from bad news? That’s how I felt every time she posted a photo. I would feel physically ill every time I saw her face.
I started to forget her. Little bits of her slipped away. I knew she had a "made in Japan" tattoo but I couldn’t remember... Was she conceived in Japan or born in Japan? It’s a small detail but forgetting it made me feel like she was water between my fingertips.
I've come such a long way since we stopped speaking. I've dated, f*cked, and even loved other women. I could handle seeing her now. Couldn't I? While waiting to see what her Instagram verdict would be, I resorted to stalking her on Facebook. She's no longer with her boyfriend. Now, she's out and has a very beautiful girlfriend. But that’s basically all I could gather from her very limited public photos. It’s utterly disorienting to see the person you used to spend almost every waking moment with and realize you know nothing about them.
Looking at her Facebook was like looking through a stranger's blinds when you walk past their apartment — it was a snapshot of a life I could never touch or understand. It was as if I never knew her, never loved her. I could still remember the shape of her lips, the brand of mascara she used, her brother's middle name — but I didn’t know her job, where she lived, or her current favorite song. When I saw her photos with her smiling girlfriend, I should've felt happy for her. But instead, I just felt jealous and bitter. Even though I barely knew her anymore, and even though I didn't want her in my life anymore, I couldn't help but want her back.
We can share a significant part of our lives with someone, lose them, move all our sh*t out, then watch their Snapchat story of getting drinks with their friends that night.
Back in the day, after people broke up, they could just release each other into the universe and that was that. Now, we have unlimited ways of staying in touch or seeing what they’re doing. We can share a significant part of our lives with someone, lose them, move all our sh*t out, then watch their Snapchat story of getting drinks with their friends that night. You can meet up at a seedy motel to have sex with your ex-girlfriend, then see that her boyfriend just took her out to the best steakhouse on Long Island and gave her a Michael Kors watch (straight people can be so basic). You can never talk to someone again but still see that they got a new job, a new puppy, and have decided to start taking anxiety medication. That’s some Black Mirror sh*t.
The fact that she wouldn’t accept my Instagram request haunted me. Why not? What is going on in her life? I don’t know if seeing her face would make me fall apart. I don’t think it would. But I don’t think finding out is worth the risk.
When I went to unfollow her, I saw that she had finally denied my request. I felt disappointed that she beat me to the punch, because I really was planning to delete my request. But I also felt relieved — now our past would stay in the past.

Which Zodiac Signs Make The Best Partners? They're Not Who You Think
05:09 cherishe 0 Comments

05:09 cherishe 0 Comments
