Ace Attorney Game Franchise Gets New Stage Play in January
New play features Godot’s stage debut, with new character designed by Tatsurō Iwamoto
Super Eccentric Theater announced on Friday that it is producing a new stage play based on CAPCOM‘s Ace Attorney games titled Gyakuten Saiban -Gyakuten no GOLD MEDAL– (Ace Attorney -Turnabout GOLD MEDAL). The play will have nine performances from January 16 to 21 at Theater 1010 next year.
The play will feature the stage play debut of the character Godot, and will also have an original character designed by the series character designer Tatsurō Iwamoto.
Yō Hosaka is directing the play, and Eisaku Satō is penning the script.
The franchise‘s most recent stage play debuted in 2016.
The first television anime adaptation of the games premiered in April 2016 and covered the first two games in the series. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan. Funimation released the first part on home video in January, and released the second part in May. The second season will premiere on October 6. Funimation will offer a simuldub for the new season.
