In general, if you’re going to commit a crime, you want to be dressed in something nondescript, since that will by definition, make it hard for witnesses to describe you to the police. Dark clothes. No patterns. Maybe a plain baseball cap and some sunglasses.
On the other hand, if your crime ensemble consists of a miniskirt and a tiara, that’s just going to attract attention, especially if you happen to be a 50-year-old man.
Nevertheless, a boy (whose age has been given as being between 10 and 19, due to the vagaries of Japanese linguistics) who from Sapporo says that a man who was wearing a wig, miniskirt, and tiara punched him in the back of the head while the youth was playing in the city’s Akebono Park. Eyewitness accounts and security camera footage collaborate the accusation, and on the morning of May 29 police questioned a 50-year-old suspect who resides in Sapporo’s Higashi Ward in connection with the incident
The man has admitted to touching the boy, though he claims that his intention was not to assault him, merely to “pet” him. Petting children you don’t know can get you in trouble with the law just as quickly as punching them however, and the man was arrested nonetheless, with police currently in the process of determining just how violent the physical contact was, as well as the man’s psychological health and subsequent legal culpability.
