Pikachu and other old-school grass, fire, and water Pokémon become silver and gold necklaces
While each new installment of the Pokémon franchise introduces a new batch of charismatic Pocket Monsters, the original adorable combatants have been faithfully serving their Pokémon Masters for close to 20 years now. We’re sure a couple of long-time fans have formed a special bond with their first Pokémon, and you can now proudly display a symbol of your devotion with these silver and gold necklaces featuring the old-school grass, fire, and water Pokémon (and of course Pikachu too).
While the Pokémon Company is an undeniable marketing juggernaut, plush toys and plastic figures are its bread and butter, not accessories made of precious metals. That’s why these items are produced through a partnership with Nagoya-based jeweler K Uno. Each Poké Ball motif necklace bears the silhouette of its respective Pokémon, plus a gemstone colored to match its type: yellow for electric, green for grass, red for fire, and blue for water.
Currently, images have been released for the Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle models, as seen above. The complete lineup , though, will also include grass types Chikorita, Treecko, Turtwig, Snivy, and Chespin, fire Pokémon Cyndaquil, Torchic, Chimchar, Tepig, and Fennekin, and water Pocket Monsters Totodile, Mudkip, Piplup, Oshawott, and Froakie. Pikachu is the sole electric Pokémon representative, but the brand’s most popular breed has proven to have no trouble handling an entire event by itself, so capturing the hearts of jewelry buyers shouldn’t be too tall a task.

To make the necklace feel even more personal, the back can be engraved with up to three letters of your choosing, which is sadly one too few to spell out “PIKA.” As a final bit of customization, buyers can choose between silver (10,000 yen [US%84]), yellow gold (39,000 yen), or pink gold (59,000 yen) construction.
The necklaces can be preordered from Pokémon Center stores between October 24 and December 6, with delivery expected from December 21 for orders placed by November 3, January 20 for those placed between November 4 and November 23, and February 2 for those placed after.
