Heads up—Japan’s Ghibli Museum will be closed for two months as of this May
If you’re planning to visit Tokyo’s world-famous Ghibli Museum later this year, you may want to reschedule.
Mitaka’s Ghibli Museum has announced via its official website that it will close its doors for a two-month period as of Monday, May 9.
The popular museum—which admits only a set number of ticket-holders each day—will reopen on Friday, July 15 following a period of “maintenance and upgrading”. Whether this means we’ll be getting some new attractions or simply that the Cat Bus’ fur needs a thorough cleaning after some kind of toddler/vomit-related mishap, we’re not entirely sure, but we figured you’d appreciate the info, lest any of you were planning to visit during the next few months.
Thanks to Justin for dropping us a line with the tip.
