Japanese man loses one sandal, another Japanese man finds one sandal
Twitter once again makes us realize that it’s a small world after all.
On the morning of December 12th, Twitter user @dog58n posted this Tweet featuring a candid shot of his feet. You don’t have to look too carefully to realize something’s off.
▼ “Oh man, I lost my sandal somewhere. I’m dying.”

How exactly does someone lose only one sandal? It might make sense if this was happening on, say, a Friday night after a bit of drinking. If you look at the time stamp, however, you’ll notice that @dog58n shared this embarrassing moment at around 5:00 p.m. on a Monday.
What’s even more befuddling, though, is finding only one sandal in the middle of the day. Here’s what @ODS_FMB on Twitter had to say when he found a lone piece of footwear on his way somewhere.
▼ “Someone dropped this on the train. But, what kind of person would do this? Did they go home with only one shoe?”

We thought the same. But, wait, let’s take a closer look at that shoe. Doesn’t that look eerily similar to the one pictured in @dog58n’s Tweet? The Japanese Twitterverse picked up on this hilarious coincidence and the pair of Tweets spread like wildfire.
But wait, it doesn’t end there. Here’s what happens when @dog58n notices.
▼ “Wait, wait. Isn’t that mine? Hahaha.” / “What, seriously? Hahaha! Did you walk home barefoot? Either way, it’s sitting on the platform on Shin-Isesaki Station.”
@dog58n えっ、まじwww裸足で帰ったの? とりあえずそのまま新伊勢崎駅に放置してあるからね😭

▼ “Yeah, one foot is bare, haha. I’ll stop by Shin-Isesaki on my way home, then.” / “Now I’m picturing some guy only wearing one shoe, haha.”

While we can’t say for sure whether or not this is actually the shoe in question, or if he ever found his shoe, or even if this is all a set up, we can say with certainty that the Internet got a kick out of it (foot-related pun fully intended).
