Exclusive hand-painted Louis Vuitton-Azur Lane secret collaboration project mystifies netizens
That is one amazing custom-made luxury bag.
Designer brand Louis Vuitton is all about high-end fashion and peerless quality, but that does not mean that the company is out of touch with pop culture and modern entertainment. After all, their collaboration with a famous virtual pop singer is just one example of the company adapting to changing times.
Japanese Twitter user @hagitcho is a professional illustrator who has contributed to various character designs in novels and games like Fate/Apocrypha and Fate/Grand Order. A recent behind-the-scenes tweet by him revealed what appeared to be a secret collaboration project between Louis Vuitton and the popular smartphone game Azur Lane.

“I had the fantastic opportunity to watch this remarkable Louis Vuitton piece in action. I didn’t expect her to paint in analog! I’m not sure of the details, but it seems to be an official project. Magnificent!”
From @hagitcho’s account, the painter in the picture is presumed to be a skillful Louis Vuitton staff member who is able to replicate Taihou, a character from Azur Lane, from just a small picture on her smartphone. No doubt this is ostensibly a hand-painted, limited-edition, and rather expensive bag that has not yet been made known to the public.

Japanese netizens went wild at the prospect of an official Louis Vuitton-Azur Lane partnership that could potentially extend to many other battleship girls.
“I hope they do a live stream of the painting process.”
“That’s the Louis Vuitton in Ginza, right? I want to see the production process and the finished product. It’s impressive how they fuse traditional and contemporary elements in it.”
“That’s amazing quality. Godlike!”
“Is that really a Vuitton?”
“I want this! How much would I have to pay for this?”
Louis Vuitton bags in Japan typically range from 200,000 yen (US$1,761) to 400,000 yen. Given that this a customized collaboration bag, we would hazard a guess of 500,000 yen or $4,402 at the very least, a hefty price tag for fans who wish to own a truly unique and luxurious collector’s item.
Yet even so, we are amazed time and again at Louis Vuitton pulling off spectacular collaborations with pop culture and video games, like what they did flawlessly with Final Fantasy XIII two years ago.
