Baskin Robbins introduces a limited-edition ice cream to celebrate the boys of summer
Buy me some peanuts and Tiger Stripe…that’s how the song goes, right?
In America, the beginning of spring signals the return of Major League Baseball, but spring in Japan means one thing for baseball fans, Spring Koshien at the Koshien Stadium! The annual invitational tournament gathers the top high school teams from around the country to play for a national title. Ice cream giant Baskin Robbins is commemorating this popular event and the Nippon Professional Baseball team, the Hanshin Tigers, with a new flavor of ice cream.
With the Curse of the Colonel still firmly intact, there isn’t much for Hanshin Tigers fans to celebrate, but a delicious ice cream flavor is something they can cheer for. The custard pudding flavored Tiger Stripe shares the same beloved colors as the professional baseball team by mixing custard crème ice cream and burnt caramel ribbons.
This new flavor will be available from April 8 for a limited time, so fans should head to the 3rd floor of the Hanshin Koshien Stadium to grab some Tiger Stripe at the Baskin Robbins booth or at restaurants located in the stadium. You’ll also be able to find it sold at the bento store and traveling food wagons during the games. Celebrate a school win with the delicious new flavor, or numb the sting of defeat with a tasty ice cream cone. In either situation, Baskin Robbins’ new Tiger Stripe is going to be there for you.
