A ward in Tokyo just added some suped-up sports cars to their arsenal.

The Kasumigaseki District of the Chiyoda Ward in Tokyo must have some Initial D or The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift fans in their roster, as they proudly announced their new patrol cars on Twitter last week.

No, it’s not an April Fool’s joke, these lucky police officers will be prowling the streets in three NISMO-tuned Nissan Fairlady Zs (also known as Nissan 370Zs internationally). If car enthusiasts wanted a reason to join the police force, there are now definitely three pieces of candy at the finish line.

Reactions on the Twitterverse are exactly what you’d expect ranging from envy to a tiny bit of fear.

▼ “Cool!”

▼ “You’ll never be able to escape! Um, not that I’m planning to do anything illegal…”

These additions to the patrol fleet also reminded some people of the 1980s TV cop drama Seibu Keisatsu, which followed the macho, over-the-top Chief Daimon and his Daimon Force as they fought against the heinous criminals of their day. The series featured many notable Nissan cars, but specifically a modified 260Z that was called the Super-Z in the show.

Knowing the Kasumigaseki Police will be driving around in these bad boys, no one will ever doubt their ability to chase down a criminal. However, you have to wonder where they’re going to put the wrongdoers once they catch them, as the Fairlady Z only seats two. Guess bad guys don’t get to ride in the cool cars.
