Japanese Twitter is cracking up over these incredibly odd “fried chicken” pants
Kentucky Fried Chicken? Carrots? What do you see in these pants?
Fashion is in the eye of the beholder. What one person may find stylish may not quite be the next person’s cup of tea. And while we think that Mr. Sato may be onto something with his cardboard clothing, it seems that the rest of the world isn’t quite ready for it yet.
Just like the world may not be ready for these rather peculiar pants that were found for sale through one of Japan’s major online shopping sites, Rakuten. Twitter user @k_kazu_magi posted their discovery last week, and the “Kentucky pants” have been making waves ever since.
▼ “All I think of when I look at these pants that I found on Rakuten is KFC.
They look just like fried chicken from the back….”
楽天で見つけた服が私にはケンタッキーにしか見えないしバックスタイルとか完全にフライドチキン…… https://t.co/5BwsWdLcys

It’s honestly hard to tell the difference between the actual pants and the fried chicken Photoshop supplied by a commentor.
▼ “I replaced the pants with fried chicken”
Others were quick to chime in, most of them agreeing with the KFC sentiment. However some of them had suggestions of their own for what the pants reminded them of:
▼ “They made me think of these (lol)”
▼ These carrot legs aren’t far off either…
▼ …and strangely neither are these horse’s legs from behind…
▼ “Personally, I think it looks like smoked chicken.”
Was Family Mart‘s smoked chicken the inspiration for these pants?
▼ “They look like these things lol”
A lot of people were reminded of Ghibli’s Laputa: Castle in the Sky.
▼ “They’re just like Dola’s clothes.”
▼ “Sheetaaaaaaa!”
And even Pokémon too.
▼ “The first photo looks exactly like Medicham.”
If you want to get your hands on these odd and now-infamous pants, perhaps for a Laputa cosplay or KFC-themed Halloween costume, they are still on sale through Rakuten, for a cool 9,200 yen (US$82) plus tax.
Let us know what these pants remind you of!
