The movie industry won’t be the same after Blood-drenched Delinquent Girl Chainsaw is released next year.

Numerous amazing films have been produced by the Japanese cinema industry, from critical successes like Seven Samurai to horror classics such as The Ring. And of course, Japan is also known for occasionally producing bizarre, over-the-top, blood-soaked cult hits like Battle Royale, Wild Zero, Suicide Club, and the Machine Girl.

Next year, we’ll be able to add another film to one of those lists: Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw (literally, “Blood-drenched Delinquent Girl Chainsaw”). The film, based on the manga of the same name, tells the touching, inspirational story of delinquent school girl Giiko Nokomura, who fights off her zombified classmates using her trusty chainsaw and inexplicably short skirt.

The manga is full of memorable characters, such as Nero Aoi, Giiko’s “mad scientist” classmate responsible for turning the school into zombies. (In her defense, it was an attempt at revenge for being bullied.) But one of the most famous (or infamous) characters is surely Sayuri Bakutani, a zombie who shoots literal crotch rockets at our hero Giiko.

The film will see nation-wide release in Japan on March 5, 2016, and our guess is that it will break every box-office record in the world. Forget Titanic, Avatar, and Yokai Watch 2; Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw is clearly the superior film! After all, how many of those other movies have the kind of mind-expanding metaphors for life that Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw is clearly going to deliver with all the gravitas of a drunk Nietzsche singing Christmas carols??

Or maybe it’ll just be a stupidly awesome movie about a naughty school girl fighting Japanese teen zombies. Either way, we know what we’re doing for White Day!
