NSFW Mythbusters: Does holding your cupped hand out of a moving car feel like cupping a breast?
Japanese scientists, hard at work finding answers to life’s most important questions.
We’ve all done it before: you’re driving or riding along in a car on a warm summer’s day, when you decide to put your hand out the window to show off to the world how cool you are, moving your hand up and down like they do in the ads. Perhaps you’ll spread your palm to feel the wind rush between your fingers, or maybe even cup your hand to “catch” some of the moving air.
But then it takes a special kind of mind to take the next leap and think, “Wow, cupping my hand against the wind really feels like I’m holding a boob.”
▼ It was probably the same guy who also invented these.
But that exact idea got the people over at the Japanese humor YouTube channel Tokyo Soko thinking: is there any way to prove whether or not the air pressure going into a cupped hand outside a moving car is the same as the pressure from a squeezing a breast?
So they tackled the problem… with science! And you can watch the whole video here to find the answer to this burning question:
▼ If you’ve come this far then it’s probably obvious, but the video is a little NSFW
▼ Some of the greatest scientific discoveries have started out with great minds asking simple perverted questions.
▼ The first step: measure the pressure a D-cup breast produces when being pushed in about two inches (five centimeters). We won’t ask how they got that number.
▼ Nothing to see here, folks. Just some scientists doing a bunch of boring research.
▼ The average pressure of the breast: 88.02 pascals (Newtons per meters squared).
Yes, that seems about right.
▼ The next step: measuring wind pressure outside a car moving at 60kph (37mph).
▼ The average wind pressure: 87.87 pascals, nearly the same pressure as the breast. Hooray for scientific advancement!
Well there you have it folks: it seems that the rumors are true. The sensation of cupping your hand outside of a moving car feeling like holding a breast really does have some scientific backing behind it. So the next time you’re going for a car ride with your friends and you stick your hand out the window to catch a “cupful” of air, if you get some weird looks you have no one but yourself to blame.
If you liked the Myth Boob-ster video, then be sure to check out the rest of Tokyo Soko’s channel. They have enough breast-related videos to satisfy even the most debauched of otaku.
